If a workplace becomes too hot then staff efficiency will be reduced. There are also health concerns as in extreme temperatures there is a risk of serious fatigue or heat stroke. Uncomfortable levels of heat are more likely to cause accidents because it lowers concentration levels.

What do I need to do to air condition my environment?

It depends on what type of environment you are trying to cool. An office has higher heat gains than a lounge due to more electrical equipment and people occupying the space. A room with a large south facing window is going to be hotter on a sunny day than a room with a north facing window and will therefore require a more powerful air conditioner.
